Caliente Contest
Michael Franti and Spearhead see fit
bring their politically charged
reggae, funk and hip-hop to the
Rialto Theatre on Wednesday.
A passionate advocate for peace,
Franti produces the annual Power
to the Peaceful Festival in San
Francisco's Golden Gate Park.
The festival is this weekend and,
in addition to Franti, will feature
Alanis Morissette and Sly &
Robbie.
Not just hippies love Franti's
music. Athletes get down to the
sounds of Spearhead, as well. In
fact, one major-league baseball
player blasts Franti's song "Light
Up Ya LIghter" over the
stadium's PA system every time
he goes to the plate.
For a chance to win two movie
passes to Tower Theaters, can
you name him?

Thirsty for fall?
Take a bite out of our movie guide
The fall movie season will feature more than a few vampire and zombie movies, which won't necessarily make up for the fact that "True Blood" wraps up its second season on Sunday night. Alan Ball's smash-hit HBO series has become required viewing for those who like their vampire stories vivid, funny, overwrought and fearless.
On the big screen, the hottest vampire action is sure to be "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," the second installment of the teenybopper series starring Robert Pattison, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
Today's fall movie preview will fill you in on the new "Twilight" and other vamp flicks, including one that was filmed in Arizona and features porn star Ron Jeremy.

The kind of eatery you won't forget
Tucson restaurant review: O'Shaughnessy's Steakhouse & Piano Bar
Dining at O'Shaughnessy's Steakhouse & Piano Bar is an experience unlike any other in Tucson.
It's one of those package deals you just don't see too often nowadays: solid food, an amiable staff and one-of-a-kind entertainment.
Actually, when we first walked into O'Shaughnessy's, we thought that maybe we had crashed a private party. A spry, dapper man was singing "Life Is a Cabaret" in an enthusiastic tenor, accompanied by a dark-haired woman who played the piano behind him.

2200 N. Camino Principal.

Hours:
5:30-10 p.m. Wednesdays-Sundays.
